Michael Kors has done it again, and what better way to foresee next season’s trends than looming into Michael Kors SS15 collection. A bit biased, yes, but Michael Kors is a designer who recognises and appreciates femininity. He continuously brings collections that are light and feminine.
Following on from the success of the LVMH awards last year, we knew that this season’s Hood by Air collection was going to be something special. The collection was staged at Pitti Uomo in Florence, which is if fitting considering how luxe the show felt. There was certainly more of a focus on tailoring; Jeans and tracksuits were traded in for more suits and suits and coats.
London is always exciting and it’s obvious that is season was more about something new and something fresh. Ed Marley was dark and little bit Club Kid. This time round it had a very Galliano sensibility, of course the styling added to that feel. Velvet Bustiers and laced up jeans suddenly looked fresher. 5 watches on the velvet top with pinstripe trouser said something about opulence. Definitely. A one to watch.
It is no surprise that this season designers have noticed the plight in women speaking up and embracing their femininity and power, one of the biggest point of discussion this year has been Feminism, and it’s something that has caught on in trends. Karl Largerfield’s, olive fashion Chanel fall show summarised this year for women and their power this fall.
